Shohei Ohtani absent from Dodgers for birth of first child
Shohei Ohtani is about to be a dad.
The Los Angeles Dodgers’ two-way famous person was away from the staff for the delivery of his first youngster Friday.
Dodgers supervisor Dave Roberts stated Ohtani was together with his spouse and on MLB’s paternity record earlier than the Dodgers’ sequence opener Friday evening towards the Texas Rangers.

“He and Mamiko expect in some unspecified time in the future. That’s all I do know,” Roberts stated. “I don’t know when he’s going to return again, and I don’t know after they’re going to have the infant, however clearly they’re collectively in anticipation.”

Ohtani, 30, posted on his Instagram account in late December that he and his 28-year-old spouse, a former skilled basketball participant from his native Japan, had been anticipating a child in 2025.
“Can’t watch for the little rookie to hitch our household quickly!” the Dec. 28 publish stated. It included a photograph displaying the couple’s beloved canine, Decoy, and a pink ruffled onesie together with child footwear and a sonogram that was lined by a child emoji.

Ohtani can miss as much as three video games whereas on paternity go away. The Dodgers have a three-game sequence in Texas earlier than an off day Monday. They play on the Chicago Cubs Tuesday.
